Sania does a Devdas!

Mumbai, April 28 -- After drawing flak for her "mismatched" wedding look, Sania Mirza made punishment at the reception held in husband Shoaib Malik's home city Sialkot, Pakistan, last Sunday. The glorious light brown and red sari that the tennis ace wear was visibly inspired by Aishwarya Rai's Bengali sari from the 'Dola re dola...' song in the film Devdas.
Give her red
"The outfit was stunning and the colours worked completely for Sania. Her red lipstick and jewellery lend a Bengali feel to her get-up," says designer Nikhil Mehra, who had considered Sania's outfit for her welcome in India.
Designer Reynu Tandon says, "Everyone trying a Bengali-South Indian sari of this variety, and in these colours, looks the same. Neeta Lulla had done Aishwarya's sari in georgette, Sania's designer has used a different material." Nothing similar Designer Nida Mahmood says it's a nice long-established combination. "But with the exception of the colour of the sari, there's not anything similar in the look." While Sania uped her style quotient, there were glitches galore at the bash. Uninvited guests and security mismanagement marred the reception at the Sialkot hockey position forcing the on the spot newly-weds to leave the occupation before it was over. Upset, Sania's family, from India, also left for Lahore before time. eyewitness said hundreds of people showed up for the reception, many of whom hadn't been invited.
